He Touched So Many!
When my sister, Tammy called to tell me the news about Mr. Fisher, I was in disbelief! Ironically, I had just returned from a meeting with Riverside Band Boosters of which I am a member. My daughter is in her seventh year of band at Riverside.
Mr. Fisher was such a wonderful teacher and certainly an influence on my experience with school band. He gave so much of his time to shape us into the mighty “Marching Stags” band and Antlerettes Drill Team. I am proud to have been one of his band students for 6 years!
I ran into Mr. Fisher many times over the years and he always had a big smile and “hello”. I remember when he greeted my sister and I at his Deer Park 40th Anniversary Party in 2003. A woman standing behind me was amazed that he could remember our names! He replied that “so many of us were more like family”.
My condolences go out to Mrs. Fisher, Rob and Tina and family. He touched so many lives and will be greatly missed! Heaven has a new leader of the band!!
