A Former Colleague

I, like everyone else, was shocked to read about the passing of Ken Fisher.  I always felt as if he were an individual who would always be there to spread his knowledge, talent, and good will.  When I read of his death, my first thought was that this was the end of an era.  However, in thinking about the realm of influence he had and the numbers of lives he touched, I now realize that I was wrong.  His legacy will live on for generations to come because of all the people he touched and the profound impact he had on our lives.  It is incumbent upon each and every one of us to continue to impart his legacy to those we influence and touch.  This will ensure the his legacy will go on.  I know of several of his former students who are teaching because of the influence he had on them and the music in their lives.  They are spreading his legacy to all those whom they teach as well.  What greater legacy can one leave than that.  I do believe that if more people could live their lives as Ken lived his, that the world would be a better place.  The world lost a good man with the passing of Ken, but I believe that his legacy will continue, and for that I am grateful.
